The following water projects are scheduled for 2022

Pipe Replacement Projects | Budget: $125,000

Description: Replace 110 metres of aging 100 mm Asbestos cement water main with new 150 mm C-900 PVC piping. This work is replacing an aging asbestos cement water main, and increasing the size/capacity of the water main to 150mm, to meet fire flow requirements.

Estimated start: 2^nd quarter 2022 | Estimated completion: 4th quarter 2022

Hydrants | Budget: $32,000

Description: Based on recommendations of the Water Master Plan (WMP), install new hydrants where deficiencies exist. Replace older style hydrants and standardize infrastructure. It is planned to replace 2 – 3 hydrants per year.

Scada System Improvements | Budget: $30,000

Description: Improve the Town’s water distribution Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition system. This system monitors and controls the water supply, treatment, storage, and distribution facilities across the municipality. It will allow more operator control and notification in the event of an emergency, improving response timelines by public works employees.
