Staff presented Committee of the Whole with draft regulations for their consideration. Council directed Staff to seek public input on the proposed changes.
July 18 2023
Council directed staff to draft the relevant bylaws to regulate and enforce STRs, including amendments to the: Zoning bylaw, Fire Prevention and Hazard Control bylaw, Fees and Charges bylaw, and Notice Enforcement bylaw.
December 12 2023
Staff brought draft STR bylaws to Committee of the Whole. Council proposed changes to Fees and Charges.
Council requested that Staff amend the Fees and Charges Bylaw and bring forward the bylaws at an upcoming Regular Council meeting.
January 09 2024
Staff brought draft STR bylaws to Committee of the Whole. Council requested that the bylaws be presented at an upcoming Council meeting.
January 16 2024
1st and 2nd readings of the proposed STR bylaws was completed at Council. Council agreed to a 6-month grace period (after bylaw adoption) before enforcing the bylaws.
