Flower asked over 2 years agoThanks for your question. Our Multi-Modal Transportation Plan (that is currently in the works) will identify areas of the community that require road safety improvements. The report will be finalized this summer, and following its adoption by Council, decisions will then be made on what the top priorities will be. If you would like to stay in the loop on the Multi-Modal Transportation Plan, please visit https://letstalk.creston.ca/multimodaltransportation-plan and sign-up for projects updates.

Viola asked almost 3 years agoSunset Boulevard is classified as a residential local road. Although it is not in our roads master plan to reconstruct at this time, it has been brought forward to be reviewed within this year's Multi Modal Transportation Plan. There are plans to try and chip seal this road later in the year (2022).

Share Just curious as to how and why Hurl street was chosen to be paved when it is a street mainly used by residents of Hurl, and not in nearly as bad as Sunset Blvd, Railway Blvd below the tracks, 10th Ave N, 12th and Murdoch (just to name a few), are in terrible shape needing repair. This does not make any sense. Murdoch St and 12th Ave N are used as a shortcut from 16th Ave N and are extremely busy streets now with all the new subdivisions. Also I feel a couple of roundabouts would be very helpful at Tim Hortons and A&W. on Facebook Share Just curious as to how and why Hurl street was chosen to be paved when it is a street mainly used by residents of Hurl, and not in nearly as bad as Sunset Blvd, Railway Blvd below the tracks, 10th Ave N, 12th and Murdoch (just to name a few), are in terrible shape needing repair. Storm asked over 3 years agoGreat question! The water distribution main and some lateral service lines are due for replacement this year on Hurl Street. A large portion of the road surface will be removed to complete this work, making it cost effective for paving. If you would like any further details on this, please do not hesitate to reach out to our Director of Infrastructure Services - Ferd Schmidt at Town Hall 250-428-2214.

Tim Lengyell asked over 3 years agoThis section of Pine Street would require underground infrastructure replacement (water, sanitary and storm main replacement), also curb/gutter installation, and .5 of a metre of granular base replacement. The budgetary cost for this is not within the five-year roads capital works plan. We are hoping to chip seal this stretch of road in the next three years.
