Project Overview
Creston Valley Regional Airport is owned by the Town of Creston, operated by the Creston Valley Regional Airport Society, and financially supported through a shared valley service of the Regional District of Central Kootenay. The airport is used by a range of air ambulance, wildfire, commercial, and private aircraft and includes a 3,944 ft. runway, airfield lighting, and supporting services.
To support the long-term sustainability of this regional asset, the Town has retained HM Aero Aviation Consulting to complete a multiphase Economic Viability Study to:
Explore the views and priorities of community members and airport stakeholders;
Assess and communicate the airport's economic and social value to the region;
Establish the airport's business case based on its current position, future prospects, and niche; and
Prepare a Master Plan to guide future projects at the airport, including its infrastructure; ownership, governance, and operations; and potential growth.
Financial assistance for this project has been provided by the Province of British Columbia through the British Columbia Air Access Program.

On December 3, 2024, the Creston Valley Regional Airport Economic Viability Study was received by Town Council. The report is available on the right side of the page under Documents.
