Project Overview

Creston Valley Regional Airport is owned by the Town of Creston, operated by the Creston Valley Regional Airport Society, and financially supported through a shared valley service of the Regional District of Central Kootenay. The airport is used by a range of air ambulance, wildfire, commercial, and private aircraft and includes a 3,944 ft. runway, airfield lighting, and supporting services.

To support the long-term sustainability of this regional asset, the Town has retained HM Aero Aviation Consulting to complete a multiphase Economic Viability Study to:

  1. Explore the views and priorities of community members and airport stakeholders;
  2. Assess and communicate the airport's economic and social value to the region;
  3. Establish the airport's business case based on its current position, future prospects, and niche; and
  4. Prepare a Master Plan to guide future projects at the airport, including its infrastructure; ownership, governance, and operations; and potential growth.

Financial assistance for this project has been provided by the Province of British Columbia through the British Columbia Air Access Program.
