Increasing building efficiency and reducing building energy consumption is essential for reducing overall carbon emissions. Last year, the Town of Creston adopted the BC Step Code as part of our Building Code to help support the development of sustainable new buildings. . The Step Code includes several targets to achieve net-zero, energy-ready buildings. Between 2018-2021, Creston had approximately 50 new builds that exceeded the prescribed Step Code. Nice work! The Step Code will be an important part of improving building efficiency in Creston.
