Climate Action - Quick Fact #4

Have you heard of Biosolids?

Biosolids are a wastewater treatment product (aka, we are talking about treating your sewage). Did you know that the Town of Creston collects treated (Class B), de-watered bio-solids from our wastewater treatment plant and uses them on Town-owned agricultural lands? This process is approved by the Ministry of Environment and is strictly controlled for human health and environmental protection. Some benefits to composting biosolid waste include reducing greenhouse gas emissions and increased soil water holding capacity.
